Sexual Assault on a College Campus
Jane is a first year college student. She has been invited to many fraternity and sports team parties. One Friday night, an upperclassman asks Jane to join him at a party in a house off-campus. Jane is excited but also nervous because she’s unsure if anyone she knows will be attending. In her eagerness to make new friends, Jane accepts. At the party, Jane notices that all the guys are upperclassmen but she recognizes many freshman girls. Her date offers her a beer which she accepts despite not liking the taste of beer. She decides to hold onto that one beer for the rest of the evening and sips it occasionally. Jane has a great time but two hours into the evening she starts to feel very tired. Her date offers to take her to a friend’s room upstairs and encourages her to lie down and rest. She falls asleep. Her next memory is waking up without her clothes next to her date’s best friend with her half-full bottle of beer on the bedside table.
